Who we are
The Wolf Lake Yacht Club was founded in 1939 by Mel Nichols. The clubhouse and marina are located on the northeastern shore of Big Wolf Lake, 357 Highland Dr, Jackson, MI 49201, about five miles south of the Village of Grass Lake in eastern Jackson County, Michigan. This family-oriented club is open year-round with sailing, boating and social activities. The club hosts sailing fleets in the snipe and sunfish classes May through September. Social activities throughout the year add to the warm friendly atmosphere at the club.
OUR LAKE
Wolf Lake is a 395-acre lake located in Grass Lake, Michigan. It is known for its clear waters and scenic beauty, making it a popular spot for fishing, boating, and other water activities. One of the best sand bars in the whole area is the Wolf Lake sandbar which can really draw a crowd in the summer.
Wolf Lake is part of the Michigan Center Chain of Lakes in southeast Michigan. The chain consists of seven interconnected lakes – Center Lake, Round Lake, Price Lake, Olcott Lake, Dollar Lake, Little Wolf Lake, and of course, Wolf Lake. These lakes offer a variety of recreational opportunities, including boating, fishing, swimming, and water skiing. Bass tournaments are a big draw for the Michigan Center chain of lakes
ACTIVITIES
The club hosts sailing fleets in the snipe and sunfish classes May through September. Social activities throughout the year add to the warm friendly atmosphere at the club. Many of our activities are for Club Members only but a few are open to the general public. Our pancake breakfasts held on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day are a long-standing tradition and legendary among the locals. Amenities
The club house contains a commercial grade kitchen, dining area and an upper common room for bigger meetings and social functions. Outside there is a covered patio, children’s play area, grilling, and an expansive multi-level deck overlooking Big Wolf Lake. Together, these areas offer Club Members the opportunity to enjoy our facilities regardless of the weather. Wolf Lake is certainly a focal point to the Club, and we offer extensive docking opportunities to Club Members.
